Suggest Treatment For Rash On The Back Of Thigh

default
Posted on Wed, 6 May 2015
Question: Hello! Over the past couple months i developed a rash on the back of my thigh. I went to a dermatologist after having accompanying joint pain. I was tested for lupus And a cbc was done...all came back normal. I then had two raised red spots on my neck which did not itch but went away. I visited with a rheumatologist who found that i have neck spasms and sent me for more blood work. He tested for ra factor which came back normal, another cbcwhich was normal but he found that i had a really bad vitamin d deficiency. Mine was 17 but the normal range is 32 to 100. I am starting my 4th week of vitamin d supplements that i was prescribed. I have been feeing better, i get joint pain from time to time but its better than it was. I am concerned bc i had an itchy raised up area on my ankle that looks like a misquito bite. It has gotten pretty bright/dark red. I am also starting to get another on one of the back of my calf on the same leg...so far this one is lighter like a misquito bite. I dont know if this is a really bad sign as i am worried i have some sort of serious illness due to the vitamin d deficiency or if it is just misquito bites. I have attached pictures of the darker rash/bite on my ankle and the other one that i just got on the back of my leg. Do you think this looks suspicious considering what is going on? It has recently started warming up to the mid 60s during the day here but isnt hot or anything. Also...i have been sweaty at night but nothing major. I am worried that i have leukemia or some kind of weird illness. Thank you for your help!

Brief Answer:
You were right... To get better as fast as possible read on...

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,

I'm Dr. Neel Kudchadkar and I'll help you out real quick.

First, your fears of developing terrible diseases like leukemia, and probably
other weird, horrifying sicknessess are absolutely right.

Given these facts, I am taking you highly seriously, and have examined every
word of your question. I've looked up the photographs (rather good ones) that you have sent and posted in your question.

Let's sit back and examine the facts. Grab a cup of your favourite beverage and
read on calmly and carefully.

1. Are you vegan?. I know you're very health conscious. Many people are vegans and for good reasons too.

2. The only problem here is that Vitamin D, is more readily available in the kinds of foods, you would probably avoid.

3. You happen to have a Vitamin D deficiency. Since you've mentioned your "score" was 17.

4. It's a good thing that Vitamin D supplements are available and you can still go
on eating your favourite diet regimens.

5. I'd politely recommend 10,000 IU (International Units) for you.

6. The skin problems you are facing are due to a Vitamin D deficiency. You are not alone. Women, in general, find that get atopic dermatitis (a mysterious skin problem) in Vitamin D deficiency states.

7. There is a definite link between Vitamin D issues and Skin problems in women. I know this for a fact. This is true.

Let's now talk about terrifying illnesses like blood cancer.

1. There is no linkage at all between Vitamin issues and Blood Cancers like ALL, AML, CLL and CML. (In fact "ALL" kills people in like 2 weeks)

2. There is no linkage between eczema, a non infectious, non contagious, no fault skin illness, that you have, and any form of cancer.

3. If you had say, blood cancer, you'd face__
1.Bleeding from various parts of your body.
2.You'd face skin lesions of a totally different type.
3.Your Blood tests (the counts) would be totally "miles off base."

4. Let's talk about another murderous disease that is famous for causing skin issues.
We're talking of HIV/AIDS.
1. Here you'd face skin lesions of a rather weird type, totally different from
the skin issues you are facing now.
2. This is called as Kaposi's sarcoma.

5. I am open to ANY NUMBER OF QUERIES AS REGARDS OTHER HORRIFYING DISEASES that you think and feel you **might** have. We've just spoken about two of 'em.

6. Finally, your opinion counts. You are right. It's you who has to face the music.

I'd most politely suggest that you take roughly 25mg to 50mg of a nice medication called fluoxamine. I know what you are going through and would really like to dispatch a prescription, however we do not have this feature yet on our website (though we soon might) So, I'd kindly like to ask you to get one from your favourite doctor.

Why Fluoxamine?

Just like Vitamin D Deficiency, (that caused the skin spots), there is another vital natural chemical called as 5-HT (5- HydroxyTryptAmine) also named "Serotonin" that allows different parts of your body to "communicate" with each other. 5-HT is found everywhere in your body.

Fluoxamine at a dose of 25 to 50 mg at night, merely causes 5-HT levels to increase in your body.

That,
1. I am convinced beyond a shadow of doubt that you have a 5-HT deficiency.
2. That this causes innumerable problems and makes people's lives hell.
3. That a dose not exceeding 50mg will "fix" all issues within 2 weeks.

If you surf the web looking for Fluoxamine, you'll definitely find that it's used
for many other health issues. Issues like Depression, Obssessions, Anxiety, Panic attacks and finally... Insanity.

That,
1. I am totally convinced that you are sane and possess sound judgement.
2. A "crazy" person is simply incapable of writing such a detailed, well
informed query. They simply don't have the attention span.
3. Though a medication can be used for a certain group of illnesses, it can
be used for a totally different purpose as well.
4. In medicine, This is called "off the shelf usage".

I am supremely confident that you'll get better. I stand by my diagnosis.

Feel absolutely free to contact me, with any other issues that you might face.
You might also want to to send me a list of any other medicines you are taking
or any other illnesses you have faced in the past.

Be Happy.

Thanks for your very detailed answer...i do appreciate it. I am simply worried that the rashes on my leg have to do with the vitamin d deficiency as i thought i would be getting better by now as i have been taking 50,000 ius (i believe) twice a week. I thought the "rashes" on my legs...the one pictured on the left i got first...was a misquito bite, but as i said its turned a pretty dark reddish color. Another doctor i spoke with online (not saw) concerned me bc he said i should go back for more bloodwork and that maybe its purpura. Do you think these ar

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,

If you observe the last sentence of your 2nd question goes something like
"Do you think these ar" . I'd really appreciate it if you complete the sentence
because every piece of information is vital.

In your best interest,

I am concerne bc the rheumatologist who found the vit d deficiency said it could be caused by many things and several types of cancers. Brief Answer:
I understand. So, to be safe, all you have to do is read this and take this

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,

Thanks for your faith in us.

It's OK.

We have discussed the medical and scientific aspects of your case to the point of tedium. There isn't any "point" in discussing your case further as it will cause you to become anxious.

Let me inform you, that were I in your position, even I'd be scared. :(

Furthermore, the doctor who asked you to do a a "CBC (blood) retest" was merely
1. Following the "rules of medicine" - play it safe, and
2. ; inform the patient of all the outcomes; and..
3. do all the investigations required and,
4. ask the patient for "consent" for "abdication of control" towards
"necessary medical procedures".

What does all this mean???!!!

Simple, if you need, say an operation then, apparently, you cannot direct the operation in the middle of it. If you require an intravenous drip of necessary salts with water for say severe diarrhea and dehydration, you cannot, for instance in the middle of the consumption of the bottle, yank out the needle from your vein and say "No..thank you please... I'm feeling better, Bye!"

--This is called the "informative model" of medical practice.

These are a part of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) procedures.

This is particularly used where you live, because if the doctors do not do so, then; they are liable to be sued and the attendant publicity and loss of reputation.

From where I live, our "white coats" have a simple philosophy:
"Leniency for those patients who confess and mindlessly obey"
In short, we're a bunch of fascists.

--This is called the "Authoritative model" of the practice of medicine.

Therefore:

1. Your doctor did the next good thing.
2. Don't get mad at him or her.
3. Medical statistics say that the chances of you having any serious illness
are practically negligible.
4. There is a no reverse casual link between Vit. D deficiency and cancers.
Though there ***may*** be so, AND ONE DAY IT MAY BE PROVEN SCIENTIFICALLY THE FUTURE.

5. YOUR QUESTION IS VALID. YET IT IS RHETORICAL TO THE POINT OF BEING HYPOTHETHICAL AND PHILOSOPHICAL. THE ONLY WAY TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION LOGICALLY IS THUS BY ASKING ANOTHER QUESTION.

6. THE XXXXXXX PROBABILITY EQUATION OF MATHEMATICS STATES THAT THERE ARE ALIENS FROM OUTER SPACE. THIS IS A MATHEMATICAL/ASTROPHYSICAL FACT. THE US GOVERNMENT AND THE US MILITARY HAS SPENT BILLIONS OF TAX PAYERS MONEY ON SETI (THE SEARCH FOR EXTRATERRESTIAL INTELLIGENCE) WHY? BECAUSE THE PRESIDENT AT THAT TIME MR. NIXON
BELIEVED THAT IF THESE ALIENS LANDED IN US TERRITORY, THEY MIGHT BE PEACE LOVING CREATURES, BUT WHAT IF THEY GET MAD AND INVADE US AND KILL US ALL?
55,000 XXXXXXX LIVES WERE LOST IN VIETNAM AT THAT TIME.
THAT WAS BAD ENOUGH.
55,000 US TROOPS ARMED WITH STATE OF ART TECHNOLOGY AGAINST VIETCONG GUERILLAS ARMED WITH KNIVES AND CATAPULTS.

7. These are facts. LET ME ASK YOU YOUR OPINION ON THE XXXXXXX EQUATION. WHAT DO YOU THINK? AS OPPOSED TO NASA, THE PENTAGON, THE US GOVERNMENT AND ARMED FORCES AROUND THE WORLD?

8. So, relax. Chill. Just take say, 25mg to 50mg of Fluoxamine, because that has hardly any side effects, doesn't react with other medicines, and definitely isn't being given to you because I insidiously think you have a mental health issue.

9. I am confident that you have a 5-HT deficiency. I am neither being insinuating nor am I being condescendent. Nor am I talking over your head. Nor have I committed any errors of omission (I have scanned all the dermatographs you have submitted ever, because medicine is a matter of life and death.), Nor have I committed any errors of commission, because I have given your the exact medication to replenish molecular targets in your body.

10.Thus I have covered your questions from all possible angles, and given you practical solutions to this problem.

Take it easy, take a few deep breaths, and take the fluoxamine pills.

I am open to dialogue, doubts, queries.

Feel free to contact me:

Regards,
Dr. Neel Kudchadkar.

Brief Answer:
Kindly complete the last sentence. Thanks.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,

The last sentence was incomplete.

I strongly suspect that you use Windows, well you're obviously a smart consumer. People use windows to pay their taxes, and people use macs to listen to the Beatles, and really smart people use Linux to hack their way into banks
to pay the atrocious fees of medical crooks. :(

I'd say go with Linux, it's really convenient for both of us, right? :)

The humor is an therapeutic attempt to "break" your state of stress, which
arguably anyone would be, in your situation. That might even include me.

I can see that the last sentence in your query is incomplete.

It goes something like this. "...which I thought was a misquito bite, Do you s"

I'd kindly request you complete the sentence.

You'd be surprised to know that worry causes a lot of physical damage to the
body. Worry leads to secretion of hormone called adrenaline. This causes your
body to go into a flight or fight response. An animal, who cannot think, but
works on instinct, chooses either to fight or run away in a microsecond. As a
Human being, you "negotiate" with yourself, and thus perpetuate the vicious
cycle of hormone production.

I am attempting to communicate with you that your worry is valid and cannot
just be brushed away by cliches.

I'd entertain your worries however "trivial" and "irrelevant" and "silly" they
might sound to even yourself, BECAUSE, the government has to spend billions,
dealing with people who lose their productivity due to "worry".

Kindly check the facts. They are for real. Worry is a killer.

The worst thing about worry is that it is invisible to others. People sympathize
with someone who has broken a leg, or has the flu, but people rather have this
obnoxious attitude that a worrier is a "head case".

I strongly disagree with this. Your mind-body complex is a biological organ.

I am open to your queries, I am confident we can solve the problem.

Regardless of whether you take Fluoxamine or not, there are other methods,
that do not involve medication and the expenditure of excessive time, money and energy.

Warm wishes,
By the way, I'm rather worried you might not take this advice. :)
Regards,
Dr. Neel Kudchadkar.

Brief Answer:
Absolutely. Now read this rather thoughtfully...

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,

It's nice to hear from you.

THIS IS SERIOUS PROFESSIONAL ADVICE. IN FACT IT'S SO SERIOUS THAT IT HAS TO BE INTERSPERSED WITH LEVITY TO CUT THE WEB OF TENSION.

I take you rather seriously, and rechecked the photographs, including previous records and have taken the opinions of my colleagues. Your identity has been kept anonymous by default, since there is apparently no way of telling "who's leg with a lesion" it is.

The unanimous consensus is that you have "atopic dermatitis" which...
1. Is a no-fault skin issue.
2. Which isn't infectious. 1) you did not "catch it" from anyone.
2) neither can anyone "catch it" from you.
3) Which means you are not a mean person.
3. Atopic dermatitis is also loosely called as eczema.
4. Eczema is like saying "ocean". Which ocean? The Atlantic ocean? The Pacific ocean? The XXXXXXX ocean? you get it.
5. Search engines like say, Google or even Medical Search Engines are "intent insensitive". Let me explain. For arguably the last 70 years, computers still cannot distinguish between a small "b" and the number "6". That's why you have these "captcha's" on websites, wherein you have to type in something that your brain can recognize, something rather silly, like say the number "2166", you can "recognize" this in seconds, but even an NSA supercomputing grid could not "crack" this.

6. So, when you're doing private research on say, an illness, you suspect you have, the web throws up all sorts of disturbing stuff. If you attend medical school, students there, after reading up and looking up diseases apparently think and feel that they have X number of diseases. This is technically called the nocebo effect. Later, as you mature as a doctor, you adjust to this. It happened to me. Apparently after reading a rather gory textbook on forensic psycho-pathology; Whereas my name is Dr. Neel Kudchadkar, I began to wonder if I were a split personality, like Dr. Neel and Mr. Kudchadkar, "Mr. Kudchadkar" of course being XXXXXXX the Ripper. And "Dr. Neel" being the "Good cop".

85% of trained medical students experience the nocebo effect.

How much more so, disturbing for people who are not formally trained in medicine.
This is not to take anything away from your education. I respect it.

7. I am confident in my diagnosis. I stand by it.

8. As you know, Vitamin D takes it's own time to reach peak levels.

9. That women in general, are prone to eczematous eruptions. I don't think it is a purpura or anything dangerous for you to worry about.

10. At best, you can sun bathe. If it isn't snowing or something like that.
Sunlight that sustains plant life, mass produces vitamin D in your body.
You cannot get Vitamin D through any artificial light source, like bulbs or
florescent tubes.

11. Xenon rays (NOT X RAYS!), can produce Vitamin D. Thus, you get these online, products, to sun bathe, electrically in the comfort of you home. There even is a sunbathing bed (The term is a symmetric rhombus).

12. Today, the US FDA, has put a ban on these products. So kindly do not purchase them. It's a long story.

13. Please do not apply sun screens when sun bathing. They block vitamin D synthesis.

14. The final diagnosis is that you are safe. This is not a promise, it's a guarantee.

15. You can feel free to take as many number of opinions and blood tests as you wish. The results will be statistically the same.

I am open to your queries, doubts and concerns.

Feel free to contact me.
