Question: Hi doctor,

I didn't get a chance to aska follow up on the last question. It was somehow closed when I opened it. I looked at the hippocampal area and I cannot tell as I am not a specialist but thank you a lot for telling where you were looking. Can you please tell me if people heal or csn heal fully from peripharal neuropathy or drug and chemical abuse or both. I would think it's possible but would want your opinion. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
There are chances of improvement.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again and thanks for the direct question.

Drugs and chemicals abuse can damage both, peripheral nervous system ( nerves ) and central nervous system ( brain and spinal cord ).

Of course there is chance for improvement in cases of such damages, but stopping and avoiding the cause, healthy lifestyle are necessary.

Vitamins B complex supplement are necessary also.

Peripheral nerves are more prone to improvement, central nervous system damages may take longer to improve.

The degree of healing also remains unclear, since a lot of factors play a role in this (age, duration of offending agent, overall health status, past medical history etc.).

Hope this helps.

Brief Answer:
Follow up.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.

As we discussed previously, these symptoms may indicate a number of neurological conditions ( not a specific one ) that range from anxiety disorder to demyelinisating conditions.

Since there is only occasional occurrence of symptoms and not progression, we can say that serious neurological disorders are very unlikely the cause.

However, getting evaluated by a Neurologist and by tests will give the appropriate information about the correct diagnosis.

Again, since there is no progress in symptoms, the situation can wait until you see your Neurologist.

Hope I helped you so far.

Kind regards.

You are my favorite doctor. Maybe I can visit you someday if you wish. I would've closed the question but I had to say thanks. Last time I closed it and it felt bad that I didn't thank you. I will close it after you reply.
