Question: Morning,
The past few days I've been developing a quite painful rash on both sides between the upper cheeks of my butt. It started as just a sting and then as of this morning its quite read and inflamed and painful to the touch. I go to the gym frequently so my assumption was that this was from sweat but as its hetting worse I wanted to check, With thanks

Brief Answer:
intertrigo

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query and photograph.
It is looking like intertrigo a mixed bacterial and fungal infection.
I treat such patients with a combination of steroid and antifungal cream in night and antibacterial cream in day.
I have seen excellent response with that.
You can try this in consultation with your doctor.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
It seems to be worsening and so you require prescription oral antibiotics

Detailed Answer:
Hello
If it is worsening you need oral antibiotics as they will have more effect on the infection than local ointment applications.
These antibiotics are prescription medications so you need to meet a doctor and get thoroughly examined before you take the prescription medication.
Wishing you a good health.
Thank you.
