In slipped disc, the nerve in the lower back or neck gets pinched or compressed due to the bulged disc, which results in release of chemicals causing pain. Medications such as pregabalin and gabapentin blocks the release of these chemicals, causing pain relief. These medications may be required for 6-12 weeks for good relief.
