I am experiencing sudden pain in my back near my right shoulder. It is radiating up to the right side of my neck, and my right arm feels strange. I cannot turn my neck very far to the right or upwards without experiencing pain in my back/shoulder. The pain was so sudden and severe that I had to find a new position laying down on the floor, which was also painful. I am a 23 year old male. I want to rule out meningitis/know if I should go to an emergency room or just take Tylenol. This incident came out of nowhere and I have never experienced this before.
Brief Answer: Symptoms are not suggestive of meningitis.

I am currently awaiting an MRI. I recently took an ambulance to the ER because I could not walk. At times I did not have the strength to turn over. I have had muscle spasms and lower back pain for 3 years. I have not had that level of pain or disability in the last few weeks, however I have lower back pain and have intermittent muscle spasms all over my back, including muscle fatigue. Additionally, I have pain in my buttocks and hips to include quadriceps, and calves. I was wondering what the diagnosis may be as it pertains to either a herniated disc, ruptured disc, bulging disc, or degenerative disc(s)

i have severe forminal stenosis w/ spondylosis and DDD in my lower back along with RA, Lupus and fibromyalgias and just slipped a disk in my lower lumbar. I've tried almost every muscle relaxer there is and the only one that helps is Soma, but my pain Dr will not prescribe them to anyone. My former neurologist was presccribing Soma to me and it really helped. Since I got a slipped disk in my lower back, I am in excruciating pain and my pain Dr knows this.

what all is Valtrex treated for. I do not have herpes. I have had shingles and slipped disk in my lower back and neck, I am not sure what I was given this medication for. I have arthritis, restless legs, and I forget what you call it where you ache all over AND sometimes run a fever (information somewhere in the body). Shirley
