Suggest Treatment For Itching In The Ear And Severe Dandruff

Question: Hello Doc,
Recently i had a query with ENT specialist for ear itching. He suggest me to check with dermatologiest for the same as it would be one of the cause for ear itching. Me and my wife both having dandrough and having ear itching problem. We are using ESME harbal shampoo but no result.Could you please suggest any good anti dandrough shampoo.

Itching in the ear could be related to dandruff.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to use a ketoconazole shampoo twice weekly and apply a lotion containing combination of beclomethasone and clotrimazole on the itchy areas of the scalp and ear twice daily for 12-14 days.
Once the itchiness decreases you can stop the lotion but continue with the shampoo.

Hello Doc,
Is there any percentage for ketoconazole shampoo. The medical store guy asked me.. Please tell me which % i need to buy and is there any specific name of shampoo which contain ketoconazole. Per medical store there are many shampoos. Please suggest any.
Also please suggest any gud anti dandruff hair oil as well

Brief Answer:
Ketoconazole 2 percent shampoo, no anti dandruff hair oil available

Detailed Answer:

You can go for 2 percent ketoconazole shampoo.
Various brands available are Nizral shampoo, KZ shampoo, scalpe shampoo and kenz shampoo.
You can use either of the above.
There is no anti dandruff hair oil as oils should not be used by persons having dandruff as oils will further increase the dandruff.
