Question: HOW TO TREAT FOLLICUTTITIS AND MASIVE HAIR FALL FOR ABOUT SEVEN MONTH
WE ARE IN MALYSIA FROM USA AND ALSO HAVE BAD CASE OF PARASITE ATTACK
COULD YOU KINDLY HELP. WE PREFER TO DISCUSS THIS MEDICAL ISSUE WITH A DOCTOR RESIDING IN XXXXXXX AS THE ISSUE ORIGINATES FROM OUR HAVING LIVED IN XXXXXXX FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS.

I studied your problem.
As you got folliculitis and massive hair fall, there might be having multiple problems having on your scalp.
It seems that having folliculitis on your scalp might be due to secondary bacterial infection due to itching, some discharge from existing infection like,
1: fungal infection,
2: having parasitic infection due to Tick, Lice.
3: having dandruff infection.
So it requires to go for knowing cause of infection and afterwards proper treatment of the cause.
All problems on scalp will lead to massive hair fall.
First you might require a course of antibiotic medicine course for 5-7 days which will control the bacterial infection.
Then go for root cause of problem.
If you are having parasitic infection then go for Permethrin 1 % lotion,if require repeat the application after some time if there is ova or live lice.
For having dandruff go for application of special dandruff lotion containing Seleneum and other chemicals.
Same way if fungal infection present go for application of anti-fungal lotion.
Most probably scalp infection is main cause of hair fall but other systemic causes like Anemia, hypothyroid also can cause hair fall.

May we ask that you advice from a different, more immediate problem prospective. The problem is how do we cure parasites in the digestive track, which includes rectal itching, bloating, etc.. this problem has persisted on and off since the time we began living in XXXXXXX .. i have been given antibiotics a number of times, of different kinds, results were more severe digestive problems, upset flora in digestive track and more rapid hair loss..
I really need help to know how to get rid of these parasites. very much appreciated!!!

In previous query you did not mention Parasites in gastro-intestinal tract so I did not guide about this problem.
Ticks and lice are also parasites giving problem of hair loss so I concentrated on this line.
Having parasites in GI tract can produce ano-rectal itching and other parts of the body as well.
For intestinal parasites take tablet Albendazole 400 mg one stat. this will clear all parasite with ova and cyst.
If require you can repeat the dose after 2 weeks.
Important is to keep nails well cut and devoid of dust collection under nails as ova or cysts are collected there and through ingestion enter into GI tract.
As you took so many antibiotics there are all chances of disturbing normal intestinal flora.
For that take Probiotic capsules two times a day for 5 days.
As I told before rule out thyroid and anemia problem.
Anemia is common with parasitic infection.

We purchased the albendazole, and have taken the first dose (400mg) as recommended. Question: since the problem has been there for months upon months, and the package (Zentel is the brand) recommends taking the dosage for 3 consecutive days, if the symptoms persist after 24hours, is it okey to take it for the 3 days?
Also, for future reference, what is a antibacterial you would recommend. And, what is your recommendation for what is the best probiotic to take, and recommended dosage...

It will take some time to clear, worms, ova and cyst so after taking Zentel symptoms may remain for some time.
If require take another dose of Zentel after fifteen days.
You can give treatment to your other family members prophetical but give one dose only.
2. For having folliculitis if I have to treat in my clinic I will recommend capsule Amoxicilin, Clauvulanic acid combination 625 mg two times a day for five days. These are prescribed medications.

what would you advice for constipation after the antibiotics that was given for 30 days. and any diet suggestions. starch is out I am aware of that. the itch in the skin too is very strong. appreciate your assistance.
