Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Dear Sir/Ms

The most common cause for fecal incontinence is likely related to your constipation and fecal loading. It would be very helpful if uou could provide me following additional information

1. What is your age and sex?

2. Since how long have you been experiencing these symptoms?

3. What is your weight and height?

4. Are you on any other medication other than mentioned?

5. Do you have pain in abdomen or urinary complaints like increased frequency of urination?

Awaiting your response

Hi sorry, I am a female birthday 4/12/69
I have had small leaks from time to time which I have controlled by using pads. Now it has gotten bad enough that I am in adult diapers so as not to leak through my clothing! At my age, very embarrassing.
It has gotten worse since the addition of 5mg daily oxy for my headaches and since my pneumonia. I am 5'4'' 230lbs
I also take daily probiotic acidophilus.
I use a CPAP
40mg PROZAC, 10 mg mg DEXTROAMPHETAMINE 10 MG TAB LEVOTHYROXINE 50 MCG TABLET OXYCODONE HCL 5 MG TABLET VIT D2 1.25 MG (50,000 UNIT) CVS VITAMIN B-12 1,000 MCG TAB

From now and then I do have abdominal pain, when it gets really bad I use a stool softener or Miralax, then sometimes I need pepto!

Its not a lot that comes out, sometimes I know it is but most of the time I have no idea until I go to the bathroom that there has been a leak or I feel "wet" which is why I started to wear the diapers.

I eat a lot of salad, fiber bars, and all my blood work, believe me my dr has taken every drop for testing has been normal except a slight change in thyroid and something about having inflammation SOMEPLACE in my body.

The vitamins I have been on for 2 years when they were low and have remained normal since

Brief Answer:
Urodynamic study will be required

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms

Occasional incontinence is likely to be due to stress incontinence in which there is leakage of urine on coughing, sneezing or straining. Associated constipation can also worsen such incontinence . Associated illness like Pneumonia can also worsen Incontinence .

I would suggest you the following

1. Consult Urologist for thorough clinical assessment

2. Urodynamic bladder pressure study will be required in consultation with your Physician

3. Evacuation of colon by Retention Enema will help relieve incontinence.

4. Gynecological assessment to rule out cystocele or any associated vaginal prolapse as cause of incontinence

5. Continue taking your medication.

6. Do get thyroid profile test done to rule out underlying hypothyroidism

Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Wishing you and your family a very happy and healthy life.

Take care
