Brief Answer:
Blood and fluid cultures may be needed

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all, it is sad to know what you had gone through.

Based on the history you have shared, it's quite possible that the antibiotics that you have used have not be either for the bug causing the trouble or the bug being resistant to it.

It's better to have cultures of fluid discharge is evident or swabs through external ear and both bacterial and fungal cultures may he obtained alongwith blood cultures. Changing antibiotics to more potent broad spectrum like moxifloxacin or even injectable antibiotics may be needed.

Also a possibility by superimposed fungal infection is there. Get a detailed ENT specialist or otolaryngologist review and if needed a MRI to look for extent of infection and biopsy if suggested by the ENT specialist.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Regards.
