Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

High phosphorus causes mineral bone disease and it is important to lower it down. Here is how you do it

1. make sure that you are not eating food rich in phosphorus which are processed food like pastas, pizzas, burgers. aerated drinks, red meat. Etc
2. make sure that you are taking phosphorus lowering agent along with food, while you are eating and not before or after eating
3. sevelamer carbonate is a good drug to lower phosphorus, I usually start 400 mg three times a day

In order to help you with potassium I need to know what is the current potassium level. I will help you accordingly

Brief Answer:
Chronic kidney disease

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for getting back. I am sorry for the short delay in my reply, I had a family emergency. Thank you for attaching the reports

Here are my interpretations.

-The potassium value is very high for someone with early stage of CKD. I suggest you to get an arterial blood gas done to rule out type 4 RTA. In type 4 RTA we often see high potassium. To control potassium I suggest you to avoid a potassium rich diet, that is fruits, fruit juices especially bananas. Processed food will be rich in potassium and salts.

-Potassium absorption can stopped by using resins. It popularly comes as K-CHECK XXXXXXX or K-Bind XXXXXXX I usually give three times a day along with Syp Lactulose and re check potassium the next day.

-High phosphorus, high PTH and normal Caclium and Vit D suggests very high intake of phosphorus rich diet. I have suggested appropriate measures for it in the previous post. Keeping phosphorus in check is very vital for healthy bones.

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me

Regards
