To begin with, I would first like to go through all the symptoms that your sister is exhibiting to at least understand whether or not the diagnosis is accurate or at least close to being accurate. I would like to also highlight that the pain your sister is experiencing may last for longer, although she is on treatment. This is a distinctive presentation for adults having Fifths disease, and unfortunately it does seem like she does have it.

Treatment also is adequate for the time being. Individuals with Fifths disease also develop anaemia (to be checked and blood transfusions need to be administered if required), and immune globulin injections (which help with the immunity). Immune globulin injections help a lot by improving the individuals immunity and thus killing the virus sooner. Please speak to her doctor about this.

But in my opinion, the pain may persist this long and may even last a little longer, unfortunately she will have to endure, I am sorry about that.

I would recommend the second opinion to confirm the diagnosis, thats a great idea. But would recommend against walking, as the knees can also be affected with Fifths disease, and any physical strain can only make her feel worse, so rest is best.

Please do keep me in the loop and let me know if the diagnosis was confirmed, and if it is then speak to the rheumatologist about the immune globulin injections to help boost her immunity.

Thank you for the update.

I am sorry to learn about her current status, and your doctor should have really prescribed something more strong for her sake. Celebrex is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug and should help with the pain, but with her pain being at 9/10, celebrex also will not do much to make her feel comfortable.

Two more days until Monday, and I do feel she needs something more strong to help her at least reach a 3-4/10, so if you do not mind please do speak to the rheumatologist or her primary physician to help provide her with something a little stronger so she can at least get a good nights sleep until the results come in on Monday.
