Brief Answer:
Yes. You should be on STATINS.

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Welcome to HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns. I have also read your other query answered by another doctor on the portal.

As per I have read in your past history, you had high troponin levels recently which usually is specific for Myocardial infarction (heart attack), though confirmation with coronary angiography and echocardiography study is necessary.

You should be on STATINS for 2 main reasons -

1. Your blood cholesterol levels are high.
Total cholesterol should be less than 180mg /dl
LDL should be less than 100 mg/dl.
Your HDL (Which is a good cholesterol) is at good levels. It should be more than 50.
TRIGLYCERIDES are normal.

So, to control cholesterol and LDL, statins are the drug of choice. So, ask your doctor about starting statins.

2.Any patients with recent coronary events (heart attack or angina) should be immediately put on STATINS. As they have PLAQUE STABILIZING Effect.. So, whatever might be your lipid profile you should be put on STATINS once you have heart attack.

So, as per you have mentioned you will be undergone catheterisation, best of luck for that, start statins and in future you can take further guidance regarding your coronary Angiography report.

Thank you.
Have a nice day.
