Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your blood pressure values are slightly below the normal ranges.

What are usually your blood pressure values?

Do you have any symptoms like lightheadedness, dizziness, fatigue?

If you have any of these symptoms, they could be related to these low blood pressure values.

I recommend consulting with your doctor for a careful physical exam and some tests to investigate for the possible cause:

- a resting ECG
- blood lab tests (complete blood count for anemia, blood electrolytes for possible electrolyte imbalance, fasting glucose, kidney and liver function tests).

Meanwhile I recommend avoiding straining physical activity, take plenty of fluids (water, juices) to remain well hydrated, increase salt intake and avoid prolonged standing up position, especially in hot places.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri

I would recommend as follows:

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

Lorazepam could cause chronic fatigue and low blood pressure. I recommend reducing the dose. You should know that this drug should not be used for a prolonged time (up to a month) regularly as it can cause dependence.

I recommend increasing salt intake in your diet, as it is very helpful in raising your blood pressure.

This blood pressure values are not harmful. If you feel OK, there is no need to do anything.

I would also recommend follow my recommendations, to help avoid further decrease in your blood pressure.

Hope to have been helpful!

Best wishes,

Dr. Iliri

My answer as follows:

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

Thank you for the additional information!

Your symptoms could be related to lorazepam intake.

I recommend you to gradually reduce the doses until stopping it, in order to avoid withdrawal symptoms.

I recommend consulting with a psychiatrist and discussing other treatment options for anxiety, which are more recommended as long term therapy, such as antidepressants (sertraline, escitalopram, doluxetine, etc.).

Hope to have been helpful!

Greetings!

My answer as follows:

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

These fluctuations in your blood pressure are quite normal. They do not seem to be the cause of your symptoms, as you have been feeling tired all the past month.

Your performed tests have excluded possible chronic anemia or thyroid dysfunction which could be related to such symptomatology.

I would strongly recommend to gradually stop taking lorazepam, as it seems to be the cause of your chronic fatigue.

I also advise you consulting with a psychiatrist to discuss the above mentioned options of treatment.

I am always at your disposal if you have any other uncertainties!

Regards,

Dr. Iliri
