How Long Do Symptoms Of Dengue Fever Last?
Question: my brother is now dengue +ve, today is seventh day, no headache, no bleeding, no fever from last three days, platelets dropped from 1.2 L to 20 k in first four days, now from last two fluctuation is in 17 K and 23 K, plasma treatment is in process when platelets go down. Is there any other treatment and on an average how many days we will suffer in this phase

Dengue fever is complicated by fall in platelet count and they start falling mostly from 3rd or 4th day of fever till 7th or 8th day of fever following which they start rising.
Indications for platelet transfusion are only if platelets fall to a level of less then 10K or the person is bleeding.
There are no special medicines for this purpose.
Just keep a watch. His platelet counts would increase with in next 2 days hopefully.
