Thanks for writing to healthcaremagic.

You are 78 years old and due to not having symbalta you are facing he problem.

To confirm it that it is due to withdrawal of symbalta or not I need following information.

For which problem you are taking symbalta, since when and in which dose?

Which symptoms are you facing right now? provide detail.

Any other medicines? If yes provide detail.

Do you have any history of cardiac or diabetes problem?

After knowing these details I can help you better yo relieve your symptoms.

At present simple thing is restart symbalta if feasible to get relief.

MOST trates listed as withdrawal symptoms in ligature...Too many side effect problems to back on the medication. How long will withdrawal symptoms last ?

Brief Answer:
Mostly it is discontinuation syndrome of cymbalta

Detailed Answer:
Hello ,

Welcome back and thanks for details.

Yes it is discontinuation syndrome of cymbalta. There is no specific study about its duration and management.

But from experience as a clinician I can say, it will take 7 to 15 days to stop withdrawal since the day of starting of withdrawal.
If you can be prescribed anti anxiety medicines like klonopin 0.25 mg three times a day with multivitamins including omega 3 fatty acid and vitamin D3 , you can easily pass this withdrawal period. Klonopin then can tapered off easily without much discomfort.
Without supplementation medicines,it is really difficult to tolerate.

Another aspect is, you are taking for back pain.If you have relived of that , then it is good. If after stopping cymbalta , pain is there, I suggest restart is the best option as it is very effective medicine and side effects are not so that you concern about, most of the patients tolerate well.Considering your age ,it is best option or another medicine is imipramine about which your treating doctor can take decision to start or not for pain.

I appreciate your health, as at age of 78 you do not have cardiac or diabetes problem.

You just forgot to mention dose and duration, but I have tried my best to explain your answer.

I will be happy to help further.

Regards,
Dr.Chintan Solanki.
