Suggest treatment for urine incontinence and enuresis

Hi, I'm 22 years old male. My problem is I've enuresis and urine incontinence for 4 years. I've been on medication (oxybutinin, tolterodine, imipramine and desmopressin) for this 2 years. As i don't want to depend much on drugs, is there any way (neurology way) to treat my problem?. Just want to know, an urologist whom I've been consult with diagnosed my problem as neurogenic bladder.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per my surgical experience, there are recent advances in the management of neurogenic bladder in form of spinal cord interventions, other laser therapies over the internal sphincter; the possibility of which, depends upon the detailed case analysis, evaluation of supportive facts in terms of reports of uroflowmetry, CT IVP and others.

Hope this information will help you.

Thanks.

Hi, my son is 9 years old and has primary enuresis. He was born with mild hypospadias which was operated at 6 month. He is emotionally and socially adjusted, melancholy rather than exuberant, on the short side for his age (30%, I believe), does sports, has friends. My sister was bedwetting until at least 8, but not as often. Is there anything beside medication I can do? What is the prognosis with medication?

my 6 year old grandson battles with bedwetting, recently he had a bacterial infection not related to wetting but ear infection. at the same time he was put on claritin redy tabs for 10 days, he stopped wetting the entire 10 plus days! once off the antibiotic and the claritin started wetting again.! Ideas, suggestions?

My son is 8 yrs old and still wets the bed at night. I have heard of a nose spray that helps prevent bed wetting. Is this effective or do you have advice for something more effective? He is going to camp and we want to avoid the embarrassment of a pullup. Thanks
