Brief Answer:
Yes, it can delay periods..

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing..
I understand your concern..

Dienogest is synthetic progesterone which prevents ovulation and can delay your periods..

On stopping this you will get your periods in a week's time.. Have your doctor advised you to take this tablet continuously for 2 months? Please consult your doctor for confirmation..

This tablet was given to suppress ovulation so that Injection FSH can be given after 2 months to stimulate your ovaries to produce more eggs in the IVF cycle.. Any cysts in the ovary will also disappear with this.. It is given in combination with estrogen for 20 days..

Hope I have answered your query.. Feel free to ask any doubts.. Good day..

thanks doctor, my doctor suggested me to take it for 2 months. she didn't mentioned whether I have to take it continuously or I have to stop after 20 days. I didn't get periods so I was wondering while taking dienogest tablet will I get periods or not. I will confirm with her.

Also, she didn't gave me any estrogen tablets. With Endosis she just recommended consevel tablet for two months. Can you explain the purpose of both these tablets. thanks once again.

Brief Answer:
Dienogest along with estrogen is used to suppress ovulation

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing..
I understand your concern..

Can you write to me the content of endosis which will be written in small letters below the trade name?

While on dienogest alone, you are unlikely to get periods.. On stopping you will get periods.. Confirm with your doctor regarding the duration..

Dienogest along with estrogen is used to suppress ovulation for 2 cycles so that ovary become quiesent and any small follicular cysts will disappear.. On stimulation of ovary with FSH maximum number of follicles develop in the IVF cycle, so that more no of eggs will be obtained and hence success of IVF increases.. Consevel is just a supplement which will help to enhance egg quality..

Hope I have answered your query.. Feel free to ask any doubts.. Good day..

Hi,

Yes, the tablet was given for suppressing the endometriotic cyst..
