Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi there,

Thanks for your query.

Firstly, your symptoms are not due to Tamiflu, but due to viral fever. I cannot comment why Tamiflu was started when the viral tests were negative.

Further, The symptoms of viral fever last for 5-7 days. Viruses involve the muscles, leading to body aches, while cough with phlegm is primarily due to viral infection or, due to superimposing bacterial infection. Irrespective of antibiotics, it will take some time to resolve.

Except Paracetamol (Crocin) for generalized body pain, Cetirizine for nasal and respiratory symptoms and, high calorie diet + plenty of water orally + bed rest are the only precautions required in case of viral fever.

Get your Platelet count done, which can go down and cause bleeding tendencies, in viral fever.

Consult your doctor and apprise him of my opinion. I am certain that he will agree with me and will prescribe the advised drugs in appropriate doses.

If you find my response helpful and informative, do not forget an “excellent” (5-star rating) to my answer, to ENCOURAGE ALL doctors- engaged in social service- to render sound advice to the FREE queries.

Take care
