Why Does My Feet And Ankles Are Swelling ?

I would like to know what is causing my feet and ankles to swell, and yes I drink beer daily and have arthritis really bad in the back, shoulders, and legs. Lately it has been really bad, the feet swell so tight that I can hardly move my ankles. Would you please help me with the dianosis.

Hi welcome to HCM. There may be several reasons for swelling of feet and ankles. You have not mentioned whether the swelling pits on pressure and whether it is tender. For a start you should check your blood uric acid levels and TSH and liver function tests and creatinine levels. Cardiac evaluation is also very important. It is advisable that you visit a doctor as early as possible for a clinical evaluation with investigations.

Since you have been consuming alcohol regularly so chronic liver disease needs to be evaluated
Second since you arthritis and must be consuming painkillers ---nephropathy secondary to NSAIDS/ Auto-immune disease needs to be looked into also
