First thing to remember is blood sugar levels are too high immediately after food, gradually reduces with time, because they are used away in
metabolism, energy consumption and exercises etc.
The Fasting value above 126mg./dl and post prandial(2hrs. after eating meals) value >200mg./dl. are regarded as diabetic. But seeing single value doesn't mean you are diabetic. after checking these if they are high, Then we check
HbA1c which gives average sugar value for the past three months, if that is high , then diagnosed as diabetic.
You please have HbA1c get checked and if it is more than 6.5%, Then
consult a diabetologist for further advice on diet, exercise and medication.
