General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your history of having cold and getting blocked e Doctor told about allergies and gave Claritin which you did not take, ears were cleared a bit but again got blocked.

Claritin works by anti-histamine action hence you should continue as per the advise of your Doctor. Also, take an anti-inflammatory like Ibuprofen if it suits you. If there is any evidence of an infection your Doctor may also prescribe you antibiotic.

Oral steroids help for fast recovery, discuss with your Doctor. If there is not much improvement then consult an ENT Surgeon for ENT Endoscopy, relevant tests and get additional treatment in proper doses to get a cure. Do not blow nose. Do not instill anything in ear unless your doctor advises so.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
