What Causes Weird Smell In Nose?

I have weird smells in my nose (no one else can ever smell them) that come and go randomly -- one is like a strong cleaning fluid smell - not amonia but similar & the other (more frequent) is cigarette smoke when there isn t a cigarette for miles. I ve been taking loratadine (24 hr.) every day for about 8 years. This problem started about 3 years ago. Could it be related to the Loratadine?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

I recommend consulting with a neurologist for a physical exam and performing a brain MRI. Other tests to consider would be an ENT consult for a physical exam and a sinus X-ray study.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
