My family and I returned from Florida (Gulf Coast) a month ago. We are all experiencing some kind of rash that comes and goes. VERY itchy! Started out looking like "bites". Went away. Now we all have a fine/medium rash in it's place. We have tried: Benedryl, hydrocortizone creams, antibacterial creams, treatment for scabies, antifungal creams...can't get rid of it! What should we do?
For frequent rashes that is not going away you should wash your clothes and bedding with hot water and then rinse it with Savlon or Dettol. Do not share your toiletries, it will only trigger spread of infection. Wear soft cotton clothes. Thoroughly clean the house where you live. For relief you can take oral non sedating antihistamines. Take regular bath. Do not leave the skin dry, apply calamine lotion or Soframycin lotion.
Avoid exposure in the sun. Get clinically examined by a dermatologist, you may need a course of oral corticosteroids. You can apply Ascabiol lotion in the area affected. Leave it for 30-40 minutes and then take a bath. If it is scabies it will go away, Repeat after 15 days.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
