Hello. Thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. It is good that your head injury is mild as dangerous head injury signs have been ruled out by you. You have carefully observed these signs, which is good.

The swelling and bruising over forehead region just above eyes can move to eyes due to gravity effect like in standing and sitting position. The scalp layers in forehead are continous in eyelids layers. Thats why it occurs. You can observe progressive decrease in swelling size and change in colour of bruise from red to blue to black to brown to skin colour over in a time span of 10 to 14 days.

You can consult doctor if
: swelling persists
: If redness area increases
: In case of fever
: If you develop headache
Otherwise you can wait and observe, it will resolve.

Thanks. Hope it will help you. Take care.

Critical Care Specialist Dr. Ernesto Joscelin Carneiro Pinto 's  Response
Hi, I understand your concern and I'll try to help you. The trauma you reported caused a subgaleal hematoma, which may be related to fracture any of the skull bones. Also, you reported some cervical stiffness that may be related to some cervical muscle strain or possibly fracture or subluxation of the bones of the cervical spine.

These changes can have serious consequences and so, I suggest you seek immediately the emergency room for an accurate diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help you. Wish you good health.
