What Is The Treatment Procedure For Folliculitis For Speedy Recovery?

Hello, I've recently been to the doctors and is diagnosed with folliculitis in my private region. I was given antibiotics and the doctor had also suggested to bathe in salt water.

I was wondering how long does it usually take for the lump to disappear and is there any other treatments that can help make a quicker recovery?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It will take five to seven days for complete recovery. You can apply over the counter available topical antibiotics like mupirocin for faster recovery. Make sure that your blood sugar is well controlled because uncontrolled blood sugar can be a cause for recurrent attacks of folliculitis.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
