What Is The Treatment For The High Temperature In A 3 Year Old?

my 3 year old son has a fever of 102.9. he has been running a fever for about 12 hours. i have given him 3 doses of ibuprofen suspension at the proper intervals throughout the day. the medicine seemed to bring down the fever but it keeps spiking back up and the bottle says not to exceed 4 doses in 24 hours. also gave him a cool bath and have been pushing water. he hasn't been throwing up nor does he have diarrhea. should i take him to the ER?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi, ibuprofen Syrup is given to relieve pain and not fever. Start Paracetamol Syrup 5 ml Sos for fever and do cold sponging. Since, your child has fever for 2 days some tests needs to be done, CBC, Malarial antigen test, NS1 Antigen test. Further course of medicines will depend on above reports.
I hope this has helped you.
