What Is The Treatment For Headache And Dizziness?

Hi, I had a headbutt to the nose 12 days ago. I went to A&E and was given a facial scan to check cheek bones. The doctor was happy to send me home so I presume the scan was ok. A week later I visited a doctor at ENT and she was happy that my bones weren t obstructing my breathing but that I have a deviated septum and so cannot breath through my right nostril. I told the doctor about my headaches and dizziness and she didn t think it could be from the broken nose. I did not have this previously and my symptoms seemed to have gotten worse. I am exhausted and get dizzy by around 4-5pm and feel sick too. I have had a lot of clear fluid when I blow my nose it is thick like mucus so im unsure whether this is anything more than just ordinary mucus. Im currently awaiting an appointment to see a consultant at ENT but feel as though I m not being taken seriously by any doctors and I m desperate to know if I m in any danger by leaving my symptoms to see if they get any better. Any advice would be hugely appreciated. Thanks, Charlotte.

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have headache and dizziness and you have mucous from your nose . The symp toms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons like benign paroxysmal positional vertigo , Vertigo may also be caused by inflammation within the inner ear sometimes due to infection , meniere's disease , acoustic neuroma , sinusitis and multiple sclerosis . Sometimes ear infection occur due to postnasal drip due to sinusitis . In this case the infection spread throught eustachian tube and cause ear infection . I suggest you to consult with ENT specialist for proper checkup so that there will not be any further complication . Doctor may order certain test like CT scan , MRI , blood test , audiometery test , rotatory chair test and ECG to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe ant emetic drug , sedatives , antibiotics , decongestants ,drain sinus and some ear aid . For now avoid bending foreword , take steam , drinkginger tea thrice a day and do light exercises daily .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
