What Is The Reason For A High Amylase Reading?

Hello. I had my blood test and my amylase levels are supposedly high at 175. While I'm waiting for further blood test results I'm freaked out by this. Is there anything I can do to lower this naturally, and what is the reason for a high amylase reading?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Amylase is an enzyme secreted by the pancreas.
The normal range of amylase is between 25 to 85 units.
The levels of amylase increase in case of pancreatitis (inflammation of pancreas), cholecystitis, intestinal blockage and certain drugs.
A clinical correlation is required to know the cause of elevation of amylase.

Thanks and take care
