What Is The Cause Of Vaginal Wetness And Sore Breasts At The Age Of Fifty Four?

Hi I am 54 years old and I am going through menopause. I have not had a period since Nov 2013. I have noticed that I have a lot of vaginal wetness all the time almost like I am ovulating and my breasts are very sore. I did take a pregnancy test and it was negative. Is this part of menopause?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be due to lack of hormones especially estrogen. It is quite common in this age group. You might improve with hormone replacement therapy (HRT). Consult a gynecologist and he will direct you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
