What Is The Cause For Green Phlegm, wheezing And Runny Nose?
Why have I been coughing up green phlegm for 2 months now and have had a runny nose for 1 month? I have been coughing up this thick green phlegm for 2 months now. And about a month ago started having a runny nose. I also have been having head aches off and off. I dont have a fever or anything. Sometimes I get the chills. Sometimes I start wheezing and I can hear crackling sounds coming from my chest.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of green phlegm, wheezing and runny nose which due to inflammation and blockage of sinuses leading to upper respiratory tract infection. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit ENT specialist once and go for sinus endoscopy for visualization of sinuses. You should get culture of sinuses done and sensitivity from sinus fluids can help in correct diagnosis. You should get X-ray chest done along with pulmonary function tests to find out extent of infection and start treatment. Take mucolytic agent or decongestants. Avoid hot, sharp , spicy food substances and carbonated beverages. Do chlorhexidine mouth-rinse as well. You should go for CT sinuses.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
