Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
This morning I fell against a metal fence and banged my ribs for left breast around under my arm. I am in quite a bit of pain with it - especially when I try to stand. I also seem to be suffering from flatulence since the fall. Do I need to see my doctor, or put it down to bruised ribs ?
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum. As you describe, you had a hit at the chest area and you have flatulance as well. There could be injury to the ribs and may be there is pressure on the stomach or hiatal hernia. I advise you to consult a surgeon for diagnosis and treatment . You may need to have an X ray and gastroscopy. I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms omeprazole, domperidone, cifixime and paracetamol, till the diagnosis is established. Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
