What Is The Cause For Experiencing Something In My Vagina After A Hysterectomy?

I am experiencing something in my vaginal area. I have had a hysterectomy last year and recently it feels like the labia and clitoris are drawing up and my anatomy is distorted looking. I still have my ovaries and have had my bladder repaired during the hysterectomy. I have a history of breast cancer as well so am getting concerned. Any advise please

OBGYN 's  Response
Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.

First, given surgery involving the uterus and bladder, it may be that the long term healing process is leading to some slight distortion of the anatomy. This is not so unusual. Second, if you had breast cancer, you might be on medication (such as Tamoxifen) that decreases estrogen levels and leads to additional changes in the anatomy of the vaginal area. Schedule a visit with your OB/GYN to perform an exam for reassurance and to check the prior bladder repair.

I hope that this helps and good luck!
