What Is Causing Sweaty And Itchy Scalp?

Sure, when I am sweaty my scalp gets real itchy and then my face and neck will be very itchy feeling. I have used tried dandruff shampoo and wash my hair every night because I thought it was because I would wash every other day. The past few days it has been very bad..could it be an allergy?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

I can understand your concern for itchy scalp.

There are multiple causes of itchy scalp and it requires close physical examination to see and diagnose the exact entity.

I suggest you to meet a dermatologist near you so that the exact cause can be diagnosed.

Till that time in my patients with your kind of condition I suggest them to use ketoconazole shampoo locally everyday. It is to be used in diluted form by mixing equal amount of water in it.

For itching I generally prefer to give antihistamine such as loratadine for once or twice daily.

All the best.
