What Is Cause Of Dry, Flaky, Peeling, And Sore Areola During Breastfeeding?

hello,l have a baby who is eight months old and l am breastfeeding her.l have however noticed that my aerola has become so dry,flaky,peeling and sore and sometimes its painful when breastfeeding.what may be causing this and how is it treated,is it dangerous to my child

Hi,
from history it seems that you mightbe having cracked nipples giving rise this problem.
Due to teeth bite of baby there might be crack.
More dryness and poor cleaning after feeding might give cracks.
Apply moisturizing cream or Vaseline after proper cleaning of nipples after feeding baby.
While giving feeding again clean nipples properly with luke worm water.
Rule out fungal infection or bacterial infection after consulting your doctor.
Ok and take care.
