Hi,

Topamax (topiramate) is an anticonvulsant medication that is also used to prevent migraine headaches. One of the known side effects of Topamax is hair loss. However, the incidence of hair loss as a side effect is relatively low and not common. Other potential side effects of Topamax include dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, nausea, and tingling in the extremities. It is important to note that these side effects are not experienced by everyone who takes Topamax.

It is also possible that your hair loss could be due to other factors, such as hormonal changes after childbirth or nutritional deficiencies. Stress and certain medical conditions can also cause hair loss. It is important to speak with your doctor about your hair loss to determine the underlying cause and develop an appropriate treatment plan. Your doctor may recommend blood tests to check for nutritional deficiencies or other health problems.

Regarding your medications, Topamax and Inderal can both cause hair loss as a possible side effect. However, Zee (zolpidem) is not known to cause hair loss. It is important to talk to your doctor about your concerns regarding your medications and your hair loss. They can help determine if your medications are causing your hair loss and recommend any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan. Additionally, it is important to inform your doctor that you are breastfeeding, as some medications can be passed through breast milk and affect your baby.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
