What Does My Lipid Profile Regarding Cholesterol Indicate?
MY LIPID PROFILE RESULTS ARE AS FOLLOWS. VLDL-12mg/dl; LDL-103mg/dl; HDL-75mg/dl. I am consuming ATORVASTATIN 10mg tablet one tablet per day for the past 4 years. MY TOTAL CHOLESTROL IS 190mg/dl and triglyceride is 60mg/dl. Is it fine? - KRISHNAKUMAR FROM TRIVANDRUM, KERALA, INDIA.
Dear Sir Thanks for your query. The best interpretation of lipid profile is done in view of overall clinical profile which includes presence of various risk factors like smoking and clinical conditions like high blood pressure and diabetes. However on the face of it, the levels are within normal limits and are fine. Continue with your life style modifications include healthy diet, optimal weight and regular exercise. sincerely Sukhvinder
