Hi, I just went to the Dr. today and the Dr. thinks I have a cyst under my jawline. She sent me to get an ultrasound on my Thyroid and Para Thyroid. I do feel tightness in my throat area but not to the point where I cant breath. Could this be CANCER??
I can understand your concern. The swelling under the jawline can be a cyst or it may be enlarged thyroid or parathyroid glands.
Cyst may form in the area due to infection of the tooth or bony tissues. However, chances are less that it can be cancer as if there was a chance of its being cancerous on clinical examination, the doctor must have asked you to go for biopsy. So you should not worry about that.
After the ultrasound, if it turns out to be disorder of the thyroid or parathyroid gland, you will have to go for its treatment with medication or surgery. If it is a cyst, then you will require a surgical procedure to remove the cyst.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.
