What Could The Reason For Having Pimple Like Substance Of Forearm, Swelling And Red Rash?

I have a small pimple like thing on my left forearm that has been swealing for a few days now, and a red rash that is spreading from it. Spider bite maybe? What should I put on it since it's been a few days now? I don't have insurance so seeing a doctor would be last resort.

Hi,

I can understand your concern for red bump and rash on forearm.

There can be multiple of the possibility of the bump. After reading the query it appears to due to insect bite. Insect bite causes hypersensitivity and thus swelling and edema.

I suggest you to apply antibiotic cream application because are best effective in these condition. You can apply Gentamycin or fucidin cream or mupirocin cream over the affected area. Do not pinch, pop or scratch or even touch the area unnecessarily as it can cause aggravation of the rash. Stay away form hot and humid environment as can cause secondary infection in the same.
