What Could It Be If Having A Lump Under The Arm Which Hurts To Move And Oozing Red And Yellow Liquid?

I have a lump under my arm. It hurts when I move my arm but there has been yellow, and red stuff coming out of it periodically. Not sure what it is do you happen to have any ideas. I am going to my dr. Monday to get it looked at but not sure if there is anything I can do to help with the pain now.

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

Seems to be due to bacterial infection of the hair follicle to me(furuncle/ folliculitis).

Bacterial infection is common in areas like axilla due to sweating and lot of bacterial flora already present there.

Shavng in this area can also be a cause of folliculitis.

I advice my patients of furuncle/follculitis to take an oral antibiotic(penicillin group) for a week.

An OTC topical antibacterial like 2% mupirocin would help in addition.

If pain and swelling s causing discomfort then an OTC pain-killer like ibuprofen twice or thrice daily will help in that.

take care
regards
