What Could Cause A Sensation Of Weird Smell Or Taste, For Few Minutes, Whenever There Is A Head Injury?

Just say for example you smack your head off the table by accident and you get some sort of smell/taste that can really only be described at the time, its a quick rush of it and goes really quick. Its anytime when you take a really hard knock on the head. I'm not to sure if its a smell of taste but I'd like to know what exacly it is.

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

These symptoms could occur due to involvement of nerves in the brain stem, which send the nerves for taste.

Due to head injury, there may be reduction of blood supply or a chemical disturbance in the nerves, leading to an abnormal smell.

If the symptoms are transient, then, there is no need to worry.
