What Could Be The Small, Soft Lumps In Armpits Which Are Squishy?

I am a 58 yr old male. I have had these small soft lumps in my armpits for a few months now. They come and go. They are squishy and not attached. What do you think they might be? I am in good health and regularly attend the gym and work out with weights. I am active and work full time.

Hi,

I can understand the concern for small, soft lumps in armpits .

After reading the query it appears to be to be simple ingrown hair or simple soft tissue of the arm pits. It is quite common phenomenon to have this kind of appearance at the age of 58 years.

I advise you to not pinch or pop the area otherwise these areas are very prone for getting secondary infection. For time being period you can apply antibiotic cream such as fucidin or mupirocin and take NSAIDS tablet such as paracetamol or diclofenac. Do not try to even touch or pinch the area as can cause more aggravation of the problem.

You should preferably meet a doctor who can examine you physically and provide the best treatment.

Take care.
