What Causes Swollen Nipple With Pain And Pus?

I have an 8 month old baby and pump 3-4 times a day. Last night while pumping, I had some pain around one nipple. Today the montgomery sgland on the lower side of my breast is tender, slightly swollen and had white pus come out when squeezed. Could this be an infection or a blocked milk duct?

Hello,

You can try applying warm compress to the area and continue pumping. Take Tylenol for pain relief. If symptoms do not improve in 24 hours, follow up with your ObGyn to rule out infection.
