What Causes Swelling In Tonsils

Hi, I have been suffering from tonsils from last 6 days(I never have much problem of tonsils). Due to tonsils, I got high fever - 104 degree F, cold, cough, sneezing, weakness, etc. However after being on medication for the entire period, my fever is gone, so are most symptoms. But still my mouth is bitter and I have little weakness. Also, the tonsils is still a little swollen, though much better than earlier. Can you please advise me the reasons for it? Thanks in advance sir!

Hi,
Swelling in the tonsils will come down slowly.
Till then please do warm salt water gargling 4 times daily and drink plenty of warm fluids .
Regards,
Dr Rajkishori Godhi (MS ENT)
