What Causes Stomach Distension With Itching And Enlarged Lymph Nodes?
Sir, my sister has been diagnised with Multiple enlarged mediastinal and right hilar lymphnodes two days ago. She is also suffering from a distended abdomen and severe itching inthe abdominal area since a few days. No other factors llike loss of weight or v\fever or any such. She is due her biopsy in two days time for possible TB or lymphoma. But the doctors are ruling out any link between the stomach distension, severe itching and the enlarged lymph nodes. Can you clarify if these are to be seen together or what should we do? thank you.
Abdominal distension and lymph node enlargement and itching may be caused by sarcoidosis with liver involvement lymphomas with liver involvement may lead to hyperbilirubinemia and itching or eosinophil count elevation and itching. But you didn't mention history properly like any dyspnea? Any blood in sputum? Any history of weight loss? Any history of evening rise of temperature? You need to be evaluated, please follow your doctor orders he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
