What Causes Sore And Painful Throat With Tiny Rashes?

I woke up yesterday Morning and the Right side of my throat hurting and it's a little swollen ..and i keep breaking out on my body like tiny rashes ...do you have any idea of what this might be? I was thinking i had strep throat which i will call my doctor and make an appointment..

Regarding your query for sore throat with tiny rashes at the side of throat, I would like to tell you that it is most likely acute pharyngitis and tiny rashes on the side of throat indicates most likely acute tonsillitis.

Your suspition about staph infection should be rule out by taking culture and gram's staining of throat swab. This point should always keep in mind during planing for treatment. My opinion is that you should consult your ENT doctor for treatment and to avoid complications. Till you are waiting for specialist you may take-

1- Warm saline gargling.

2- Tab Paracetamol.

3- Adequate fluid orally.

4- Antibiotic (preferably broad spectrum).
