What Causes Rashes Around Mouth After Taking Birth Control?
Hi, I used the pill Yasmin for years but last year I started getting a rash around mouth after I d been out drinking , when I didn t take the pill during my break free week and went out drinking I didn t get a rash. I have changed to mercilon and now the same thing is happening but not as bad as before but still noticeable, I used the pill previously for 8 years with no problems. What could this be?

Hi,
Based on the history,you may have allergic reaction to combined oral contraceptives. Interaction with alcohol can also be the reason for such rashes. You can switch to low dose contraceptives or contraceptives containing newer drugs like Desogestrol and monitor any side effects.
