Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

You can try an over the counter anti histamine to treat the allergic reaction. You would need to speak to your doctor so he or she is aware of the fact that you are allergic to the medication.

hope this helps

If you had a allergic reaction to shrimp and it effects your stomach that you struggle during a bm and there is blood within the stool, when you first wake up there is tiny strains of blood in the mucus and it makes you have a stiff neck for a couple of weeks, and when you sit there is a feeling in your throat that makes you taste copper blood, then when you go to spit there is tiny strains of blood as well.

doctor1 MD

Hello!
it is not likely that the taste and blood coming after so many days is due to the shrimp, rather it may be an infection in your throat!
please meet your doctor for further advice!
thanks

Can chewing tobacco cause any metabolites to be released through skin pores, etc. that might cause a four year old child to exhibit an allergic reaction? I have a grandson who has been to an allergist that conducted an extensive scratch test that only showed he was allergic to tobacco. He does exhibit allergic reaction symptoms at times, and his step-father uses chewing tobacco.

hi, anything and everything can cause allergy on earth. hence if it found to be allergic, you should aviod the exposure. you can try desensitisation procedure to reduce the severity.

I am having an allergic reaction....eyeslids are puffy and scaley, tiny hives on my face and my tounge feels funny. Over the last few weeks I found green tea was the culprit and stopped drinking all tea, was pretty cleared up and then yesterday I ate some soy beans and I am broken out again badly. I found on line where both green tea and soy beans can cause exzema and hives on the face....have you heard of this and do you know of anything else that could be causing this issue?

Can skin glue used to close a wound cause an allergic reaction or infection? I have an incision of approx. one inch on my inner right leg just below the knee that was used to retrieve a vein for heart bypass surgery that occured 2 months ago. It has not healed yet. It has been shown to several of my physicians and they said it was not infected and to keep an eye on it. Well I finally got antibiotics from my dermatologist who says it is infected. Could the skin glue have caused this not to heal like it should?

doctor1 MD

A little less than two weeks ago I woke up and my lip was swollen, it itched a little, was warm, but did not hurt at all, it was actually numb. It ended up swelling up HUGE. I went to the hospital and they said it was probably an allergic reaction, they prescribed me steroids and said to take Benadryl and go see an allergy doctor. Well, about two hours ago my foot started itching and getting warm, it's a little swollen and my skin feels tight so I can't walk normally. It's on the top of my upper right root, under the big down. It's warm too. I remember this same thing happening to my knees about two months ago but I did not think anything of it. I'm kind of a hypochondriac, so everyone told me not to worry about it, "it's probably nothing". But I know my body, and I know when something doesn't seem right. Please help!!!!

doctor1 MD

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

Swelling, itching and warm suggest allergy.

To control the rash, itching and swelling antihistamines and steroids should be used and NSAID to prevent inflammation. You can take steroid initially BD for 3 days, then taper the dose OD for 3 days and later can be stopped....

I've been watching my blood pressure. Sometime its normal, sometime not. My pulse also is doing that. This reading is 137/84 and pulse is 45. I was just wondering how lower your pulse can go and be okay? Reading earlier was 139/76 and pulse 110. One of my high ones was 133/94 and pulse 46. I have been taking prednesone since yesterday in a tapering dose due to an unknown allergic reaction under my eyes/swelling. But my blood pressure has been doing the high/normal stuff for some time.

Hi,

My bday party is Saturday, 11/6/10; however, 11/3/10, I had a severe allergic reaction to nuts. I was given steroids, pepcid and benadryl at hospital. I was sent home with 40 mg of prednisone 2x a day or 4 days, 40 mg of pepcid 2 x a day and benadryl 25 - 50mg every 4 - 6 hours. I went to allergist who gave me a script to ween off prednisone. For 11/5/10 - 30mg, 11/6/10 - 20mg, 11/7/10 - 10mg, 11/8/10 - 5mg (end). My question, the "caution category" on the prescription info sheet doesn't indicate if I could consume a glass (or two) of wine on 11/6/10; is it safe to consume 1 or 2 glasses of wine on 11/6/10?
