What Causes Numbness In The Tongue After Brushing Teeth?
My girlfriend and I both brushed our teeth with aquafresh toothpaste last night, and both had the exact same reaction. Our tongues both became slightly numb on the tip. We were eating chips and salsa prior to brushing our teeth. Could there be some time of chemical reaction with the food and toothpaste?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
As per your complain if you both had same symptoms it is possible that both of you either had an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients of the toothbrush or both of you might have got the reaction to different ingredients..
Interaction between food and toothpaste seems less convincing as when you must be brushing your teeth food might not be present in the mouth..
Nothing to worry as gradually the effect of the allergen will subside the numbness will resolve.. But if the symptoms continues to recur start using herbal or hypoallergic toothpaste to prevent the recurrence of the symptoms..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
