I have the birth control implant called implanon and I started feeling numbness in my arm and it started making me throw up my food a lot. It feels as if it has moved deeper into my arm. I m worried and want to get it removed if some thing serious is wrong. Help please!
You have symptoms of the side effects or allergy of the implant. Take anti emetics to feel better. Report to your treating doctor at the earliest & get treated.
According to research data few women with short upper arms have reported the symptoms of peripheral neuropathy like pain, numbness when the arms are rotated internally.
It can be treated with NSAIDS if the symptoms disappear there may not need to remove the implant but if the symptoms worsen or persist the implants needs to be removed.
In case of the removal of implants, your treating doctor may insert the subdermal capsules in the direction of the elbow than the axilla in women with the short upper arm.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
