Pathologist and Microbiologist, Dr. Siddartha's Response
Hello,
If the swelling is in the breast, depending on the age differentials vary. For suppose you are in the reproductive age group most of the times it might be a simple fibroadenoma. In the elderly usually signifies malignancy. Go for simple fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) from the swelling and get your report.
If the swelling is above the breast, few things ask yourself. Is it tender? (Tender means the experience of pain when pressing the swelling) Is skin above it showing red color?
In the query, you mentioned that night sweets are there. Are you getting any fever? Usually, fever with night sweats is associated with tuberculosis. My suggestion is to consult a general surgeon and go for fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC).
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Siddartha
